The Challenge
SEMIS sought to unify its K–12 Place-Based Education projects within a single digital portfolio platform—one that would preserve historical context while supporting intuitive, cross-format discovery. To bring this vision to life, SEMIS engaged ClairvoyAgency, who collaborated with Pendulee to design and develop the education technology solution.

Our Approach
We developed a dual-gallery WordPress-based education archive comprising a dedicated Current Year Gallery for new submissions and a Historical Archive housing past projects (2021–2023). The platform features dynamic filtering by school, grade level, and theme; supports a wide range of project-based learning formats; and includes automated year-to-year archiving to streamline ongoing content management.

Impact
The platform enables thematic discovery across annual student portfolios, enhancing the visibility of SEMIS’ Place-Based Education projects among educators, administrators, and community stakeholders. By centralizing four years of student work into a searchable digital archive, we established a scalable curation system to support and streamline future submissions.

Key Technical Features
The dual-gallery framework ensures consistent navigation across both current and historical archives, while integrating seamlessly with SEMIS’ existing hosting infrastructure. Designed for flexibility, the system offers a responsive, media-rich display optimized for client-managed educational content across a variety of formats.
